WAZIRI wa Afya, Maendeleo ya Jamii Jinsia,Wazee na Watoto,Ummy Mwalimu ametoa vifaa vya michezo kwa timu ya African Sports ya Tanga yenye thamani ya zaidi ya milioni 1.5 ikiwa ni mkakati kabambe wa kuhakikisha timu hiyo inafanya vizuri kwenye mashindano wanayoshiriki na hatimaye kucheza ligi daraja la kwanza msimu ujao.

Makabidhiano hayo yalifanyika leo kwenye uwanja wa CCM Mkwakwani mjini Tanga wakati wa ufunguzi wa timu ya wanawake ya Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) ya wilaya ya Tanga ambapo alisema vifaa hivyo vitakuwa ni chachu ya timu hiyo kuweza kufikia malengo yao.

Aliyasema hayo mara baada ya kukabidhi vifaa hivyo kwa timu hiyo katika halfa iliyoshuhudiwa na viongozi mbalimbali wakiwemo wa klabu ya African Sports ambapo alisema dhamira yake kubwa ni kuhakikisha timu hiyo inarejea ligi daraja la kwanza na ile ya Coastal Union ihakikisha msimu ujao inarudi Ligi kuu.

Zanzibar to Organize a Half Marathon race to Promote Gender Mainstreaming, Attain Sustainable Development Goal

More than 300 Zanzibari women, men, girls and boys are expected to participate in the race ZANZI HALF scheduled to take place on February 4th, 2018 in Stone Town in the Isles.
ZANZI HALF is an international standard sporting and cultural event featuring a half marathon of 10 km and 5 km distances to be staged for the first time in the East African archipelago of Zanzibar with ethe view to highlighting women's empowerment and gender equality.
The race is a response to the 2030 agenda for sustainable development with a call out for action in the world, and is organized by the local interfaith women´s program Upendo Means Love and the Danish NGO and running community Right to Movement in collaboration with ZIFF, Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) and Zanzibar Amateur Athletic Association (ZAAA).
Women and girls are at the very heart of the agenda in an acknowledgement that their participation is crucial as a pre-condition for the achievement of sustainable development, says one of the organizer,Ms Lotte Bredholt. The race will bring together women and men from the grass root level united in a movement that will translate into further action, transforming gender norms by challenging existing traditional roles, taboo and break down stereotypes showing women and girls as active agents of change and peace. However, sustainability and equality is only achievable if women and men work together.
“Running is empowering” continues Lotte Bredholt, “when women and girls realize their potential and strength on the track and on the streets, there is a spillover effect to other areas of life”. Running is a tool as well for inter-community dialogue continues Lotte Bredholt. Besides the race event, ZANZI HALF encourages local society, rural and urban, to take up running and to be part of a running community. In the meeting between people, sharing experience and passion for a common activity, socio cultural, religious and gender barriers diminish. “It´s a commitment to enhance diversity and inclusion, and is part of the global agenda for sustainable development”.
Fumba Town Development, a project by CPS (FTD),issponsoring the event as part of their support for socio-economic development in Zanzibar. Fumba Town Development combines state-of-the-art residential properties, based on a modern and sustainable infrastructure, with commercial, educational and recreational areas to create a new, modern lifestyle in Zanzibar.
As part of our community development initiatives, we are proud to have teamed up with Zanzihalf for their initial half-marathon on February 4th. We are very excited about the upcoming event and are already training as Fumba Town Team to take part in the race. With regular participants of about 30 runners from our company and the villagers around, we already make an impact towards bringing the communities together.
The Zanzibar Amateur Athletic Association welcomes a race which brings awareness to the role of sport empowering women, however as MlingiBwire points out, a proper half marathon also should have cash prices to attract the elite runners. Though not big, the tree first runners from the two distances 10k and half marathon will be rewarded with a price. All participants will receive a medal.

Zanzibar International Film Festival ZIFF also known as Festival of the Dhow Countries is an annual film festival held in Zanzibar. ZIFF is a non-governmental organization established in 1997 and has developed into one of the largest multi-disciplinary art and cultural festival in Africa dedicated to films, music and different form of arts. Over the years, ZIFF has used their platform Women Panorama as a medium of women´s power and visibility to highlight and address pertinent gender and social issues. The Women´s Panorama commonly comprises of a series of workshops, parades, cultural activities, seminars and symposia organized and centered on the visibility of women in and through medium of cinema, the arts and the media.

PSG secure Mbappe in mega Monaco deal

French teen sensation Kylian Mbappe joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco on a season-long loan Thursday, just hours before the transfer deadline in a deal that makes him the second most expensive footballer in history.
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the immediate arrival of Kylian Mbappe,” the club wrote on its website.“The loan agreement also includes an option to buy which, when exercised, will bind the player to Paris Saint-Germain until June 30, 2022.”
According to media reports, the overall transfer fee could rise to 180 million euros ($215 million) including add-ons, which would make Mbappe, 18, the second most valuable player ever behind his new team-mate Neymar.
“It is with great joy and pride that I join Paris Saint-Germain,” said Mbappe.
“For any young person from the Paris region, it is often a dream to wear the red and blue jersey and experience the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes.
“I really wanted to be a part of the club’s project, which is one of the most ambitious in Europe.
“Alongside my new team-mates, I intend to continue my progression while helping the team achieve the very big objectives it has set itself.”
Mbappe burst onto the scene in the second half of last season and scored 15 goals in 29 appearances in Monaco’s run to the French title. He netted 26 times in 44 matches in all competitions.
Brought up in the northern suburbs of Paris, Mbappe was compared to a young Thierry Henry as he first broke into the Monaco side in December 2015, just before his 17th birthday. He has won four caps for France.
“It was essential for French football that we keep and help develop such a great talent in our championship,” said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
“Among players of his age, he is without doubt the most promising in the world.”
Also targeted by Real Madrid this summer, Mbappe’s move to PSG will leave many wondering how the Qatar-owned club can avoid sanctions from European football’s governing body considering the investment already made on Neymar.
The French club shattered the previous global transfer record earlier in August when they splashed out a staggering 222 million euros to prise the Brazilian superstar away from Barcelona.
FFP rules currently stipulate that clubs cannot post losses of more than 30 million euros over the three-year period to 2018.
Among the sanctions risked by PSG if they are found to have broken those rules is a ban from the Champions League.
France play a World Cup qualifier against the Netherlands at the Stade de France later on Thursday, although Mbappe was only named among the substitutes by Didier Deschamps.
After being left out of the Monaco squad last week, Mbappe was an unused substitute for last Sunday’s game against Marseille as the reigning French champions won 6-1.

Report: men's marathon – IAAF World Championships London 2017 , Alphonce Simbu Finishes 3rd

Geoffrey Kirui won the 2017 world men’s marathon title – becoming Kenya’s fifth champion in the event - after winning a testing duel in the sun with Ethiopia’s Tamirat Tola over the four-loop course that began and ended on Tower Bridge, where he finished in 2:08:27.

In so doing, the 2017 Boston Marathon winner extended his country’s record as the most successful nation in the history of this event at the IAAF World Championships.

Tola, the Olympic 10,000m bronze medallist and fastest in the field thanks to the 2:04:11 he recorded in winning this year’s Dubai Marathon, required medical treatment after struggling home in 2:09:49, just two seconds ahead of Tanzania’s Alphonce Simbu, who clocked 2:09:41.

Home runner Callum Hawkins, who had featured intermittently in the lead through the first half of the race, finished strongly for fourth place in a personal best of 2:10:17.

Kenya’s Gideon Kipketer, who seemed set for bronze for much of the race, was fifth in 2:10:56, a place ahead of Italy's Daniele Meucci, given the same time, a personal best.

"This is the best moment of my career, easily,” said Kirui. “I am so happy to win the world title because it is my first time at these championships. This was the best course and the best crowd I have seen at a marathon.

"I was not expecting to be world champion. I feared the Ethiopian because he had such a fast time, so I just followed my plan to 35km and then felt my body to see how I was doing. Good for me it responded well.

"I was smart not to follow the Ethiopian. When he tried to take off, I knew I had to hit my target at 35km then I started to move.

"Winning this title has been my goal for so long. Now my goal will be to repeat it."

Simbu was also understandably jubilant. "I am very, very happy,” he said. “This was my focus. I thank God because he protected me, gave me power and strength. I think Tanzanians are over the moon now because this is a great day for us.

"It was a difficult race because everybody is fighting for this. The course has ups and downs and a lot of curves, it is not an easy one. I thought I could catch Kipketer after 35km. From the start I stayed in the first group, but when Tola, Kirui and Kipketer got away I felt that their pace was too fast for me. But you cannot know if you do not catch up with one of them later because a marathon race is very difficult.”

For Hawkins, it was a day of mixed emotions. "It was tough,” he said. “The support was crazy. Over the last 5km I couldn't even hear my own footsteps. It was pretty ridiculous out there but brilliant to come out in front of a home crowd.

"Maybe I left it a bit late and should have covered the big move at half-way a bit more, but I felt at the time it would have destroyed me had I done it.

"I think I was going okay to start and the others were sludging and slowing down. I'm pleased with fourth but I wanted that medal; you always do.”

Ethiopia have only won this race once – through Gezahegne Abera in Edmonton in 2001. But as the race reached its three-quarters point it looked as if Tola was going to double that record.

At the 30km mark, the leading pair of Tola and Kirui were 23 seconds clear of Kipketer, with the third Kenyan, Daniel Wanjiru, London Marathon winner here, 46 seconds adrift.

The Ethiopian then opened up a lead of about 20 metres, and Kirui’s demeanour seemed to indicate that the decisive moment had occurred. Not so.

The pace was clearly telling on the leader, who betrayed his tiredness as he twice failed to pick up a water bottle from a drinks stop before managing on a third attempt. Kirui, who had appeared to be wilting a few minutes earlier, renewed his challenge as the race reached the point where human frailty and strength reveal themselves in dramatic fashion. Such is the enduring fascination of the marathon event...

Kirui led Tola by a stride as they passed under the railway bridge for the fourth and final time. As they emerged, he had a decisive lead of about 20 metres, and never faltered from that point on.

Eritrea’s 2015 champion Ghirmay Ghebrselaasie was not here to defend his title, but his nation’s hopes were ably carried by Yohanes Ghebregergis, who was seventh in 2:12:07, one place above Wanjiru, who clocked 2:12:16.

Bolt unable to end on a golden note as Gatlin earns shock 100m win – day two wrap – IAAF World Championships London 2017

A terrible start prevented Usain Bolt from providing a perfect finish to his stellar individual sprinting career on a night when his perennial rival Justin Gatlin, five years his senior at 35, came through to win.

The 30-year-old Jamaican, seeking to add a final global 100m gold to his unrivalled collection, had to settle for bronze – his first at a championships where he has amassed 11 golds and two silvers – in 9.95.

Silver went to the 22-year-old US sprinter who still leads this year’s world list, Christian Coleman, who finished in 9.94.

But, just as he had at last month’s US Championships, Gatlin – who has served two doping bans – came through over the final 15 metres to beat his young rival, finishing in a season’s best of 9.92 to reclaim a title he last won in 2005.

Although Bolt will finish his career by running the 4x100m for his country here, this was a farewell to an individual sporting legend whose charisma rivals that of the late Muhammad Ali.

As Gatlin kneeled on the track in tearful disbelief, offering at the same time a salute to the beaten champion, Bolt – as big in defeat as he has always been in victory – strolled over and gave him a warm hug, exchanging a few words.

“Usain said to me ‘congratulations, you deserve it’. He knows how hard I work,” Gatlin said later.

Bolt’s finale continued with an unhurried lap of honour, as he bent to kiss the lane he had run in before obliging with the ‘To The World’ stance before bowing to the adoring supporters who had remained behind to wave their green and yellow flags and scarves at him. Never has a 100m bronze medallist been so feted.

Last to be introduced a rapturous crowd before the final, he had sauntered through the entrance with the confident smile of a talkshow host. But for once, the confidence was misplaced.

“London, I really appreciate the support you gave me, it’s been brilliant,” said Bolt. “I wanted to end with a gold, but it’s just one of those things. I want to thank you for your support. Thank you.”
Ayana in a league of her own as she wins 10,000m gold

It was just like old times in the women’s 10,000m final as Tirunesh Dibaba – five-times a world champion and three times an Olympic champion – sprinted clear to finish ahead of her Kenyan rival Agnes Tirop.

But this time the 32-year-old Dibaba’s reward was silver on a night when her compatriot Almaz Ayana, who succeeded her as Olympic champion in a world record of 29:17.45, finished fully 300 metres clear after breaking away shortly before the halfway mark of what had started out as a slow race to earn another global gold in 30:16.32.

Dibaba clocked 31:02.69, with the 21-year-old Tirop, who became the second youngest winner of the world cross-country title two years ago, earning bronze in a personal best of 31:03.50.

Ayana completed the final 3000m in 8:41 and the second 5000m in 14:25.

Dibaba, who had been seeking a sixth world gold medal – and a fourth at 10,000m – was also something of a mystery given that she had not raced on the circuit following her 2:17:56 clocking in finishing second at the London Marathon this April.

"I am very happy to win this title, much more than when I won the Olympic gold because I have been sick this year and didn't expect it,” said Ayana. “In fact, this was my first race of 2017."
Manyonga returns from injury to win long jump gold

Luvo Manyonga, whose domination of the men’s long jump this season was abruptly interrupted by the ankle injury he suffered in winning last month’s IAAF Diamond League meeting in Stockholm, showed he had fully recovered here as he won a hugely volatile and competitive final with a best effort of 8.48m.

Early leader Jarrion Lawson of the United States produced an inspired final effort that fell just four centimetres short of reclaiming top spot, settling for silver ahead of Manyonga’s South African compatriot Ruswahl Samaai, who took bronze with 8.32m, in a final that saw 10 of the 12 finalists registering jumps beyond eight metres.

The two South Africans have thus been suitably rewarded at the end of a season in which they have claimed 11 of the 12 best jumps, with Manyonga leading that list with the 8.65m he produced at altitude in Potchefstroom back in April.

It was a measure of how fit and happy Manyonga felt that the elected to take his final jump even though the gold was secure. It was a huge effort – he landed at about the 8.70m mark – but the red flag indicated a foul. No matter. He was soon lying flat on his back in the sand of the landing pit, moving his arms and legs up and down; a happy starfish.
Gold for Gudzius – by two centimetres

Andrius Gudzius produced the discus throw of his life, 69.21m, to earn gold by a margin of just two centimetres from the Swede who heads this year’s world list with 71.29m, Daniel Stahl.

The 26-year-old Lithuanian, world U20 champion in 2010, produced his decisive effort in the second round and there was nothing a field that included Poland’s defending champion Piotr Malachowski and the man who took Olympic gold in this stadium five years ago, Germany’s Robert Harting, could do about it.

Another personal best throw, 68.03m, earned bronze for Mason Finley of the United States ahead of Jamaica’s Fedrick Dacres, whose best was 65.83m. Malachowski was fifth with 65.24m, and Harting reached 65.10m for sixth place.

"Every athlete must be dreaming about the world title and I managed it tonight,” said Gudzius. “I still cannot believe it and I think I need some time to understand what has just happened. I am so delighted. I was thinking about a medal but I did not expect gold.”
Schafer leads Thiam overnight in heptathlon

Germany’s Carolin Schafer finished the opening day of the heptathlon with a narrow lead over Belgium’s Olympic champion Nafi Thiam, 4036 points to 4014, after clocking 23.58 in the fourth and final event of the first day, the 200m, following home Britain’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who won in 22.86.

Third place was held overnight by Cuba’s Yorgelis Rodriguez, who had produced three personal bests in the earlier high jump.

For Johnson-Thompson it was a good end to a day that had started badly when, despite having a high jump best of 1.98m, she could only manage a best of 1.80m.

This event had provided the most arresting action of the morning session as Rodriguez, who arrived here with a high jump personal best of 1.87m, set successive bests of 1.89m, 1.92m and – to her own growing delight and that of her coach – 1.95m, which was as high as the Olympic champion, who has a personal best of 1.98m, could manage herself.

Thiam led proceedings by only eight points after the high jump but extended her lead out to 72 points after the shot put. The Belgian had the best mark across the two pools with 15.17m to bring her tally up to 3087 points while Schafer moved up into second after setting a 14.84m personal best.
Elsewhere…

Kenya’s Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon was the fastest qualifier for Monday’s 1500m final, winning the opening semifinal in 4:03.54, just ahead of Britain’s Laura Muir, who clocked 4:03.64 and the fast-finishing Caster Semenya, who will also contest the 800m here.

But Ethiopia’s world record-holder Genzebe Dibaba faded to sixth, one place outside the automatic qualifying positions, and had to wait before hearing she had gone through as one of the two non-automatic qualifiers with 4:05.33.

A dramatic second semifinal was won by Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands in 4:03.77. Germany’s Konstanze Klosterhalfen made a big move at the start of the penultimate lap, and took the bell with a 30-metre lead, but was caught by the pack around the final bend.

Earlier, world and Olympic 400m champion Wayde Van Niekerk and his Botswana rival Isaac Makwala, both seeking a 200m/400m double here, had adopted different tactics in their first-round heats. The South African won his heat with minimum effort in 45.27, while Makwala produced the fastest time of the day, 44.55. Steven Gardiner of The Bahamas, Fred Kerley of the United States and Makwala’s 20-year-old teammate Baboloki Thebe were all impressive heat winners.
Medal reallocation ceremonies

The evening programme began with three reallocation ceremonies for medals from the 2007 IAAF World Championships. Rutger Smith of the Netherlands was awarded the shot put bronze medal, Ukraine’s Iryna Lishchynska was given the 1500m silver medal, while USA’s Kara Goucher and Britain’s Jo Pavey received the 10,000m silver and bronze medals respectively.

Timu zinazoshiriki ligi kuu ya Vodacom tanzania bara zimekabidhiwa vifaa mbalimbali na mdhamini mkuu wa ligi hiyo Kampuni ya mawasiliano ya Vodacom Tanzania, vifaa hivyo vilivyokabidhiwa kwa timu zinazoshiriki ligi hiyo vina thamani ya zaidi ya shilingi milioni 500/=

Akikabidhi vifaa hivyo jana jijini Dar es Salaam, Mkurugenzi mkuu wa Idara ya Masoko na Usambazaji wa kampuni hiyo, Hisham Hendi, alisema kuwa kwa mara nyingine tena katika kuhakikisha ligi ya soka nchini inaenda vizuri Vodacom inakabidhi vifaa mbalimbali vya ligi ambavyo ni jezi mbalimbali, viatu vya mazoezi na mechi, soksi, vilinda ugoko, nguo za mazoezi, nguo za kawaida, gloves, mabegi ya kusafiria, nguo za marefa, bendera, substitution boards na vifaa vingine vingi vinavyohitajika. “Tunajisikia furaha kukabidhi vifaa hivi siku ya leo tukiwa tunatekeleza matakwa ya mkataba wa udhamini, ni imani yetu kwamba timu zitakazoshiriki ligi zimejiandaa vya kutosha kwa msimu mpya wa ligi wa 2017/2018”Alisema Hendi.

Hendi alisema Vodacom inaendelea kudhamini ligi kuu kwa sababu soka ni mchezo unaopendwa sana hapa nyumbani ukiwa na washabiki wengi hivyo inapenda kuona wananchi ambao baadhi yao ni wateja wake wanapata burudani ya mchezo waupendao pia siku zote inaamini kuwa michezo ni ajira kubwa duniani kote, ikiendelezwa inaweza kubadilisha maisha ya watu wengi na taifa kunufaika kwa mapato makubwa ya kodi kutoka katika sekta hii.

Aliwataka wadhamini wengine kujitokeza ili kuboresha zaidi ligi ya Tanzania na kuongeza maslahi kwa wachezaji wanaoshiriki katika ligi “Tukiunganisha nguvu timu zetu zinaweza kuwa na wachezaji wa kimataifa pia ni muhimu kwa wadau mbalimbali kuanza kuwekeza katika timu za vijana chipukizi kwa kuwa vipaji vinaanzia ngazi ya chini ambako vinapaswa kuibuliwa na kuendelezwa ”Alisema Hendi.

Naye Ofisa Mtendaji Mkuu wa Bodi ya Ligi,Boniface Wambura aliishukuru hiyo, na kuzitaka klabu zinazoshiriki ligi hiyo kuheshimu chapa ya mdhamini wakati wote wa mechi za ligi. “Ninatoa mwito kwa klabu zote kutumia jezi zenye nembo ya mdhamini mkuu katika kuhakikisha ligi inafanikiwa kama inavyotakiwa,”alisema.

Aliongeza kuwa TFF isingependa kutumia kanuni na sheria kuadhibu klabu inayokwenda kinyume, bali kila klabu izingatie masharti ya mdhamini kama ambavyo anavyotimiza haki yake ya kuwapatia vifaa.

Alisema ligi ya mwaka huu itakuwa bora kutokana na maandalizi yote kukamilika mapema pia timu zitazoshiriki zimejiandaa vya kutosha kuhakikisha ligi inakuwa na msisimko na ushindani mkubwa.

URIO CUP YAZINDULIWA RASMI DAR

Mashindano ya mpira wa Miguu maarufu kama URIO CUP 2017 yamezinduliwa rasmi Jijini Dar es Salaam. Mashindano hayo, yanayoratibiwa na Msonge Africa Kwa kushirikiana na Jomo International na kudhaminiwa na Times FM, yana lengo la kuzikutanisha timu 32 zinazotokea katika sehemu mbalimbali za Mkoa wa Dar es Salaam ili kuleta hamasa katika kata ya Kunduchi na pia kuzipa timu za kata hiyo uzoefu.

Akizindua mashindano hayo, Diwani wa Kata ya Kunduchi, Michael Urio ambaye ndio mdhamini na mwanzilishi wa kombe hilo la Urio Cup alisema hii ni mara ya pili kwa mashindano hayo kufanyika kwani mara ya kwanza yalifanyika mwaka 2015 na kuhusisha timu 16 na kuongeza kuwa Urio Cup mwaka huu inaenda sambamba na Kampeni maalumu ya ‘Wezesha Mama na mtoto Mpya wa Kuncuchi’ ambayo ilizinduliwa hivi karibuni na yenye lengo la kuboresha zahanati ya Ununio na Mtongani.

Diwani wa Kata ya Kunduchi, Michael Urio akipiga danadana ikiwa ni ishara ya uzinduzi wa Urio Cup mashindano ambayo yanatarajiwa kufanyika katika kata yake kuanzia mwezi ujao. Wengine kutoka kushoto ni Mkurugenzi wa Radio Times FM, Rehure Nyaulawa, Mratibu wa Urio Cup, Deus Buhilo na Katibu wa Ligi na Mashindano wa Chama Cha Mpira Wilaya ya Kinondoni, Khalid Shehani.

“Moja ya ahadi nilizotoa kwa wananchi wangu ni kuimarisha sanaa na michezo kwani michezo sasa hivi ni chanzo kikubwa cha ajira hasa kwa vijana. Urio Cup iliyopita ilitoa baadhi ya wachezaji waliojiunga na timu za daraja la kwanza na nimefahamishwa kuwa kuna wengine pia wanacheza ligi kuu,” alisema Mh. Urio.

Alitoa wito kwa wadau mbalimbali wapenda michezo wamuunge mkono katika hili ili kombe hili liweze kukua mwaka hadi mwaka na kuwafadisha vijana wengi zaidi. “Nimearifiwa kuwa tutawaalika wawakilishi kutoka timu za ligi kuu ili waweze kutafuta vipaji kutoka kwa timu zitakazoshiriki Urio Cup.

Hili litasaidia sana katika kuamsha ari ya vijana huku wote wakiwa na matumaini ya kusajiliwa na timu kubwa siku moja,” alisema diwani huyo. Naye mratibu wa Urio Cup, Bw. Deus Buhilo alisema maandalizi yote yamekamilika na wanatarajia kushindanisha timu 32 ambazo zinatakiwa kujisajili na kulipia ada ya Tsh 70,000 na timu zinazotakiwa kujisajili zinatakiwa kutuma maombi na kupata maelekezo kupitia namba 0652559122 na malipo kupitia namba 0628555333.

Diwani wa Kata ya Kunduchi, Michael Urio akizungumza wakati wa uzinduzi wa Urio Cup mashindano ambayo yanatarajiwa kufanyika katika kata yake kuanzia mwezi ujao. Kushoto kwake ni Mkurugenzi wa Radio Times FM, Rehure Nyaulawa na Katibu wa Ligi na Mashindano wa Chama Cha Mpira Wilaya ya Kinondoni, Khalid Shehani.

“Urio Cup ni mashindano makubwa na tumeweka vigezo ili kuhakikisha tunakuwa na mashindano bora yanayofuata kanuni zote za FIFA na TFF. Tunataka kuwajengea vijana wetu uzoefu ili waweze kufika katika ngazi za juu zaidi,” alisema mratibu huyo na kumshukuru Diwani Urio kwa kuanzisha mashindano hayo.

Alisema mechi zitachezwa katika Uwanja wa Shule ya Sekondari Tegeta na zitaanza katika hatua ya mtoano nyumbani na ugenini na mshindi ndiye ataendelea katika hatua inayofuata huku fainali za mashindano hayo yakifanyika Katika Uwanja wa Machava uliopo Kunduchi Beach ambao kwa sasa umeanza kufanyiwa matengenezo.

Alisema mshindi wa kwanza atajinyakulia Tsh 3,000,000 na kombe, wa pili 1,500,000, timu yenye nidhamu Tsh 100,000, mfungaji bora Tsh 100,000, Kikundi bora cha ushangiliaji Tsh 100,000, kipa bora Tsh 100,000 na mchezaji bora (man of the match) Tsh 10,000 na kuongeza kuwa timu zitakazotinga katika hatua ya 16 bora zitapata jezi.

“Mashindano haya yatafanyika kwa miezi mitatu kuanzia Agosti 7 na tunatoa wito kwa timu mbalimbali zijitokeze kujisajili na wakazi wa Dar es Salaam wajitokeze kwa wingi pia kufuatilia,” alisema huku akiongeza kuwa kiingilio katika kila mechi ni Tsh 500 ili kuhamasisha watu wengi zaidi kupata nafasi ya kutazama mashindano hayo.

Naye Katibu wa Kamati ya Ligi na Mashindano wa Chama Cha Mpira Wilaya ya Kinondoni (KIFA), Khalid Shehani alitoa pongezi kwa Diwani Urio kwa juhudi zake za kukuza mpira katika kata yake na kumhakikishia ushirikiano mkubwa. “Hii ni hatua kubwa mno na TFF inaunga mkono hatua hizi asilimia 100 na tutatoa ushirikiano mkubwa ili kwa pamoja tuendeleze mpira wetu.

Timu zitakazoshiriki zijiandae vizuri na kuyapa mashindano haya umuhimu mkubwa kwani ni ngazi ya kufika katika hatua nyingine za juu zaidi,” alisema na kuomba timu zitakazoshiriki kuzingatia kanuni na taratibu zote za mpira ili kuepukana na matatizo.
