President Uhuru Kenyatta now says that he disagrees with the Supreme Court decision to nullify the presidential elections, insisting that he won the August 8 polls owing to the majority of Jubilee Party members in both the National Assembly and Senate and also governors.
Speaking hours after the court nullified the presidential election on account that IEBC failed, neglected and refused to conduct the election in the manner dictated in the constitution, President Kenyatta said that he respects the ruling of the court and he is ready to return to Kenyans to seek votes with the same agenda he used in the first round of elections.“I don’t agree with the ruling of the Supreme Court but I equally respect it. I would like to urge my opponents to desist from divisive politics and let us sell our agenda to Kenyans and meet again at the polls,” said President Kenyatta.
Presidential Kenyatta, who was declared winner of the presidential polls which has been nullified, urged Kenyans to maintain peace even as we embark on fresh electioneering process.
“We are not at war with our brothers and sisters in the opposition because we are all Kenyans. Your neighbor remains your neighbor and s/he is the most important person to you,” added President Kenyatta.
